Canva Hacks PART 2 - Photo Reveal Typography

Ready to give your headlines a bold, eye-catching twist? In this Canva Hack, I’ll walk you through a quick way to create Photo Reveal Typography ➔ a layered text effect that makes your visuals pop and instantly looks custom-designed.

It’s perfect for hero banners, promo graphics, or standout social posts.

Here’s how to do it:

Step 1 ➔ Start with Your Base
Upload your background image and resize it to fill the canvas. Center it and remove the background if needed.

Step 2 ➔ Add a Bold Headline
Choose a thick, impactful font like: ➔ Anton
➔ League Spartan
➔ Luckiest Guy
Add your headline and send it to the back behind your image.

Step 3 ➔ Duplicate and Create the Hollow Effect
➔ Duplicate the text
➔ On the top copy, apply the Hollow text effect
➔ Set the thickness to 1
You should now have 3 layers: ➔ Bottom layer ➔ White text
Middle layer ➔ Image
Top layer ➔ Hollow text

Think of it like a sandwich ➔ the photo is the filling!

Step 4 ➔ Align the Layers
Stack all 3 perfectly using arrow keys. You’ll now have a high-impact, outlined word with your image revealed within it ➔ giving your text depth and character.

This effect is easy but looks like advanced design work. It’s a scroll-stopper for sure.
