Canva APPS Part 6
Canva just launched a built-in Texture App, and it changes everything. This guide shows you how to use it, where to find it, and which textures to try first to add depth and visual richness to your designs.
Margins might seem like a small detail — but they make a big difference in how your design feels.
Whether you’re building carousels, lead magnets, headers, or mockups, using margins and rulers inside Canva keeps everything clean, aligned, and professional. And the best part? It only takes a few clicks to set up.
Misaligned designs feel off — even if you can’t explain why.
Margins create visual balance and give your content room to breathe.
When spacing is consistent, your design feels more polished and easier to read.
Go to the File menu (top left corner)
Click Settings
Select Show Margins
A visible margin box will appear around your canvas. This helps you keep content inside a safe boundary and avoid cutting off text or visuals.
For even more precision, turn on rulers and custom guides:
Go to File → Settings
Click Show Rulers and Guides
Click and drag from the ruler edges to place guides
Hold Shift while dragging to lock to the nearest pixel
You can create your own grid system for layouts, carousels, or brand templates. These guides do not show in your final design — they’re just for layout help.
Clean spacing
Visually aligned elements
Less clutter
A more professional overall design
